Dr. John You, MD MSc FRCPC, is a hospital-based general internist who received his MSc in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Toronto in 2005. He joined McMaster University in 2007 and is currently an Associate Professor in the Departments of Medicine, and Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact, McMaster University. He is the faculty Research Coordinator for the Division of General Internal Medicine at McMaster University, and a staff physician at Hamilton Health Sciences. His main clinical and scholarly interest is to improve the quality of end of life communication, decision-making, and care for seriously ill hospitalized patients and their families.

 Dr. You is a network investigator and Theme Lead in Advance Care Planning/End-of-Life Care for CFN (Canadian Frailty Network), a Network of Centres of Excellence (NCE) awarded $23.9 million in renewal funding from the Canadian federal government for a second five-year term (2017-2022). CFN's mission is to improve care for older Canadians living with frailty and the improvement of advance care planning and end-of-life care is one of its key priorities. Dr. You is an executive member of CARENET (Canadian Researchers at the End of Life Network), an interdisciplinary network of health care professionals from across Canada who collaborate to improve palliative and end-of-life care.
